Extremely strict security conditions required a complex technological solution
that an ordinary visitor can’t even notice.
During the reconstruction of the Žižkov TV Tower, built in the years 1985–1992 according to the design of architect Václac Aulický and engineer Jiří Kozák, Atelier
SAD dealt with the complex commercial use of the restaurants and viewpoint areas. As a reference to machinism, constructivism and utopian visions of architecture
from the previous century, the architects used a variety of futuristic elements. The entrance is dominated by an organic reception desk made out of white fiberglass.
The first height modules hold a restaurant and a bar. Cozy padded boxes divide the café into two levels. The restaurant on the opposite side opens up an impressive
view of the historical center of Prague. The two height levels of the space are divided by the sculptural entangled wire partitions. In the last part of the first module
is a nightclub with a bar decorated with custom-made glass elements symbolizing the trifoliate plan of the height modules of the tower. Take the cast iron spiral
staircase decorated with graphic illustrations of world famous TV towers by studio Oficina to get into the exclusive one-bedroom hotel. The sightseeing module is
completed with hanging Bubble chairs by Eero Aarnio and a central multifunctional organic laminate object, which can be used for sitting, or as a DJ-ing counter.
